Carolyn Cassidy has been elevated to the post of executive VP of current programming at 20th Century Fox Television.

Cassidy has run the studio’s current series department since 2015. In her role, she oversees a team of executives responsible for managing more than 20 TV series for FBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, FX and Netflix. She is tasked with ensuring that the company’s series are creatively vibrant, well-managed financially and that they become long-term assets in its library. Cassidy has grown franchise hits such as This Is Us, Empire, 9-1-1 and Modern Family.

Cassidy manages relationships with high-profile creators such as Lee Daniels, Dan Fogelman and Steve Levitan. She also works with the next generation of hit-makers from current series staffs.

“Carolyn took over our current programming team three years ago, and she has done a phenomenal job,” remarked Jonathan Davis, the president of creative affairs. “Keeping our current shows healthy and thriving is the lifeblood of a studio, and her role is one that combines sharp creative skills, talent relations and sound financial judgment. She accomplishes all of it with incredible competence and a sense of humor that everyone appreciates, me most of all.”
