TVF Content Headed to Public Libraries & Classrooms

TVF International has closed deals with partners in the global non-theatric and educational market.

Carbon: The Unauthorised Biography—co-produced by Genepool Productions and Handful of Films for the ABC, CBC and ARTE—is headed to classrooms in Sweden and Greece via respective deals with Kuskapsmedia and CINEDU, the Greek Film Centre’s digital movie platform for schools. The award-winning documentary, narrated by Succession’s Sarah Snook, explores the story of the element carbon, from its role in the origin of life to today’s fossil fuels.

A new deal with the non-theatric streaming platform Kanopy brings over 30 hours of new titles to public and academic libraries all over the world. The package spans a variety of topics and genres, with titles such as One Way Hong Kong Exodus, which follows several families and their journey to the U.K. through the British National (overseas) visa scheme; Deciphering Japan and Deciphering South Korea, which explore changing social and cultural identities in Asia; and the Channel 4 commissions 100 Vaginas and Me and My Penis.

Academic publisher ProQuest picked up over 40 hours of programming on science, economics and religion. The acquisition includes the four-part series Inside the Crypto-Kingdom. Video titles from TVF have launched in the collections Contemporary Global Issues in Video and Trade and Globalization Studies Online, both of which are available for perpetual purchase as well as through subscription to the larger multimedia Global Issues Library.

Other sales to North America included a number of true-crime titles licensed to Dreamscape Media, including The Big Boss: A 21st Century Criminal, How to Catch a Killer and The Negotiators, a series that provides a deep dive into hostage negotiation.

TVF has worked with WBF Medien to bring Extraordinary Ecosystems, about the wonders of the natural world and how nature has developed and evolved over millions of years, to German classrooms.

In Hong Kong, TVF aligned with MediaMatters for over 100 new hours. Titles sold included Channel 4’s The Story of Mr Men and Sky Arts’ Hepworth: A Life in Sculpture.

Hannah Cesarani, senior sales executive at TVF International, said: “TVF International is proud to distribute such an extensive selection of high-end specialist factual programming. Covering an impressive range of topics spanning science, history, health and arts means TVF International is a natural and cherished partner for educational platforms around the world.”
