TVF International Signs ANZ Deals

TVF International has signed a slew of deals with broadcasters in Australia and New Zealand for its factual titles.

The distributor has presold its original series Great British Train Journeys From Above to Australia’s SBS. Narrated by Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey, Paddington), it showcases three of Britain’s most iconic steam train journeys.

For its military history slot, SBS acquired How the Second World War Became a Global War and Who Paid for World War II? The public broadcaster also picked up season 12 of The World from Above, Ageless Gardens, Music Voyager and The World’s Most Remote Hotels. It licensed Riot Island for Viceland and Southeast Asia on a Plate, Have You Eaten Yet? Tasting Taiwan, Eating Plants, Paula McIntyre’s Hamely Kitchen and Paula McIntyre’s Hamely Kitchen USA for SBS Food.

SBS licensed Glories of Islamic Art, Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World, Magnificent Megacities, National Parks of Korea, Beijing’s Secret Blueprint and Celebration Nation for SBS On Demand.

Australian public broadcaster ABC picked up two specials from When Titans Clash for its Four Corners current affairs strand, including When Titans Clash: A New Global Trade War? and When Titans Clash: Knives Out in the South China Sea. For Foreign Correspondent, ABC acquired China’s Abandoned Daughters.

In New Zealand, Māori Television licensed the wildlife titles Secret Life of Seals, The Secret Life of Bats and Wild City, as well as Indigiqueer.
