SBS & Mint Pictures Team for Bondi Terror Attack Doc

SBS and Mint Pictures have announced they are co-producing Bondi (w.t.), a feature documentary examining the worst terror attack in modern Australian history.

“This was an unprecedented event that shattered so many lives across Australia, and particularly the Australian Jewish community,” said Joseph Maxwell, head of SBS unscripted. “We are committed to backing bold documentaries that inspire conversation and explore issues that go to the heart of SBS’s purpose. In the experienced hands of Mint Pictures, our hope is that this documentary will inspire meaningful discussion and be a lasting record of this terrible moment in our nation’s history.“

Bondi (w.t.) is told through the voices of survivors, families of the victims, first responders and the ordinary people who stepped forward to help those attacked at the Chanukah by the Sea event on December 14 at Bondi Beach.

“With Bondi (w.t.), our intention is to create a deeply human account shaped by the voices of survivors, families and first responders—not just of that horrific day but the spike in antisemitism that led up to it and shredded our social cohesion,” said Mint Pictures creative director Dan Goldberg. “We are honored to be partnering with Australia’s multicultural network to develop a film that explores this tragic story with authenticity and sensitivity.”
