Stephen King: A Necessary Evil, a documentary detailing the life and career of the horror fiction novelist, is slated to premiere in the U.S. on MagellanTV on October 6.

Through extensive and rare archival footage, the documentary sheds light on King’s introspections, including his perspectives on mainstream versus “serious” literature and evaluations of his own book-to-screen adaptations over the years. It will be available on MagellanTV to everyone, including non-subscribers, through Halloween.

After October 31, only MagellanTV subscribers will have access to the documentary.

Stephen King: A Necessary Evil is directed by Julien Dupuy and produced by Arte France, Brainworks and Rockyrama. It was previously released in France and Germany.
