Netflix Adds Fyre Music Fest Doc to Lineup

Netflix has picked up Fyre, the documentary film from director Chris Smith (Jim & Andy: The Great Beyond) about the titular music festival that didn’t go as planned.

Fyre offers an exclusive look behind the scenes of the event with first-hand accounts from its organizers Billy McFarland and rapper Ja Rule. Billed as a luxury music festival, Fyre was set to take place on a private island in the Bahamas where there was to be bikini-clad supermodels, A-list musical performances and posh amenities. When guests arrived, however, they were met with disappointment.

Produced by Danny Gabai (VICE Studios), Chris Smith (Library Films) and Mick Purzycki (Jerry Media), Fyre will be released globally on Netflix on January 18.
