NBCUniversal International’s reality on-demand SVOD service hayu has entered into a deal with Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) for a range of hit MTV and VH1 shows.

The mixture of classic MTV and VH1 titles includes The Hills, Jersey Shore, Laguna Beach and Love & Hip Hop: New York. This complements the more than 4,000 episodes of reality content on the service, including Keeping Up with the Kardashians and its spin-offs and popular franchises The Real Housewives and Million Dollar Listing, among others.

“Our latest SVOD deal with hayu demonstrates VIMN’s ongoing commitment to expanding its global footprint by making sure we’re everywhere our audiences are,” commented Lauren Marriott, the VP of international program sales at VIMN. “Familiarity is something consumers love, particularly in a world where there is so much choice and this is reflected in the ongoing demand for and continual relevance of our established and much-loved titles.”

Hendrik McDermott, the senior VP of branded on Demand at NBCUniversal International, said, “hayu’s acquisition of iconic VIMN reality content has added over 400 hours of nostalgic programming to the service—from series that were specifically requested by our users. We are delighted to see this content being embraced alongside the growing inventory of over 4,000 episodes of NBCUniversal’s world-leading reality content currently available to hayu subscribers.”
