More Big Cats 24/7 Commissioned for BBC & PBS

BBC Studios Natural History Unit has been commissioned to produce a second season of Big Cats 24/7 for BBC Two, BBC iPlayer and PBS.

Big Cats 24/7, which is slated to make its series debut on BBC Two in August and on PBS in September, follows the lives of lions, cheetahs and leopards in the Okavango Delta in Botswana, offering unparalleled access to a rarely visited area.

Season two, which will broadcast in 2025, will continue to follow the big cats of the first season and introduce some new faces.

The series is produced by BBC Studios Natural History and co-produced by PBS. BBC Studios handles global distribution.

“Big Cats 24/7 is a thrilling series following amazing animal behavior, with great on-screen talent and set in one of the most beautiful places on Earth,” said Sreya Biswas, head of commissioning for natural history at BBC. “Being able to follow the cats for long periods of time has been a unique opportunity, and I’m really excited to commission a second series so we can dive straight back in and continue telling the incredible stories of the lions, leopards and cheetahs.”

Tom Jarvis, executive producer of the series, added, “It’s thrilling to be jumping right back into the dramatic lives of the big cats we have grown to love. What I’m most excited about in this series is that we are able to tell longitudinal and personal stories about the animals we are embedded with, and it feels like you are given a unique window into their world.”
