Lifetime is presenting a pair of new specials this month, offering viewers a different perspective on two major life events: childbirth and marriage.

In the one-hour Happily Ever Altered, a bride- and groom-to-be embark on major physical transformations before their big day. The catch is that they are completely separated from one another—from the start of their transformational surgeries all the way through their physical and emotional healing and up to their wedding day, when they’ll reveal their new look to each other right before the ceremony.

Happily Ever Altered is produced by Thinkfactory Media, an ITV America company, for Lifetime. It is slated to air on July 22 at 10 p.m.

In The Baby Factory: Alabama, cameras go behind closed doors at one of the busiest labor and delivery units in the country: Baptist Medical Center East in Montgomery, Alabama. During the one-hour special, the hospital’s doctors and nurses reveal the unique circumstances, daily stresses and challenges as they deliver dozens of babies.

Produced by Truly Original for Lifetime, the special is scheduled for July 15 at 10 p.m.
