Legend Media & Mediacorp Ink Unscripted Distribution Deal

China’s Legend Media and Mediacorp in Singapore have entered into a two-year deal to distribute close to 200 hours of documentary and lifestyle content to the Chinese market.

The programs acquired by Legend Media span such genres as food, culture, history, science and true crime. They include Perfect Pairings, Ahead of Their Time, Slumfood Millionaire, A Medical Journey and Inside Maximum Security.

This deal builds on an earlier agreement to acquire Mediacorp titles Food Secrets and Food Empire.

Patrick Peng, co-founder of Legend Media, said: “China and Singapore are similar in many ways—so it is in the content industry. The way Singapore producers tell stories and the universal emotions embedded in those shows will appeal to the Chinese audience. ”
