Good Cop, Bad Cop, a new series hosted by veteran homicide detective Garry McFadden (I Am Homicide), has been slated to debut on Investigation Discovery (ID) on November 12.

The six-episode series recounts detectives’ pursuits to solve murder investigations in which the perpetrator is a fellow member of law enforcement. Each story reveals how difficult and dangerous it is when the killer is on the inside.

The show, produced by Blackfin, features interviews with those closely connected to the cases and expert insight from McFadden. The debut episode, “Hunting Ground,” follows an investigation in San Diego after police discover the body of Cara Knott tossed over a highway bridge. With dead-end leads, they must work quickly to bring the murderer to justice.

McFadden is a 37-year veteran of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) in North Carolina. He spent 30 years as a detective for the CMPD, with 22 of those in the homicide unit. Throughout his career, he has worked over 800 homicide cases with a 90 percent success rate and has never lost a homicide case during trial. He retired from CMPD in 2011 and went to work in the Office of the Chief to the Community Relations Unit to help implement programs within his community. In 2018, he was elected as the first African American Sheriff in Mecklenburg County. He continues to serve as Sheriff today.
