HISTORY Renews Survival Series Alone

NEW YORK: HISTORY has greenlit a third season of its survival series Alone, which will move from Vancouver Island to South America.

The series watches as ten hardcore survivalists are left alone in the wilderness and the contestants have one mission: to stay alive. A $500,000 cash prize is at stake, awarded to the person who can last the longest. Filming begins in Patagonia next month.

Season two of Alone debuts tonight at 9 p.m. on HISTORY. The show is produced by Leftfield Pictures.

“The success of Alone truly speaks to the fact that there is simply nothing else like it on television,” said Paul Cabana, the executive VP and head of programming at HISTORY. “Season two truly takes the series to the next level and gives us the confidence to trigger season three immediately.”
