HGTV, Food Network & More Join Discovery GO Suite

Discovery’s suite of TV Everywhere GO apps now includes a number of additional brands for viewers to access, including HGTV and Food Network.

HGTV, Food Network, Travel Channel, DIY Network and Cooking Channel have all joined the 12 existing Discovery GO apps. This expansion of network offerings brings more than 22,000 titles to the platform and increases the number of titles across all of the apps to 45,000.

Launched in 2016, Discovery’s suite of TV Everywhere GO apps is available on Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, iOS, Android, Chromecast, Xbox One, Samsung TV and Web.

“Discovery’s suite of GO apps super-serves the consumer with the content they love and creates the ultimate viewing experience across all screens and platforms,” said Karen Leever, Discovery’s president of U.S. digital products and marketing. “The addition of these networks to our platform allows our superfans direct access to over a thousand series to binge, catch up or watch live.”

Lauri Baker, senior VP of TV Everywhere ad sales for Discovery, commented: “We are thrilled to expand the GO portfolio of brands and provide our advertisers an incremental library of over 20,000 full episodes of the top-rated shows in the food, home, DIY and travel categories. With 30 percent of our streams coming from library content, these additions create a whole new world of opportunity for our advertisers and offer them a greater variety of options in a viewable, brand-safe environment.”

Joe Ambeault, senior VP of product and technology, added: “Discovery is committed to delivering the next generation of products and to providing the ultimate viewing experience anywhere, anytime. Having the full vault of Discovery content now available on our authenticated GO platform fulfills that promise and as we simultaneously continue to innovate and enhance the overall user experience to better serve our users.”
