WBD Acquires More Unscripted for EMEA

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) has unveiled its 2025 lineup of new and returning unscripted series acquired for Discovery channels and streaming platforms across Europe, Africa and beyond.

Outback Crystal Hunters, showcasing the adventures of a new generation of crystal miners in Australia, will return with a new eight-episode season on DMAX UK, DMAX Germany, Discovery Benelux, DMAX Italy, DMAX Spain, Discovery CEE, Discovery Nordics and Discovery Hungary. The series is produced by Prospero Productions.

The new series Treasure Hunters Down Under, produced by Wild Thring, follows passionate detectorists as they uncover hidden treasures across Australia, from historical artifacts to gold. It will premiere on DMAX UK, Discovery Benelux, DMAX Italy, Turkey, Iberia, Germany, Discovery Nordics, Discovery Hungary and Discovery South Africa.

A rebooted second season of Marooned with Ed Stafford will be coming to DMAX Turkey, Discovery Channel Africa, Central Europe, Nordics, Hungary, Romania, the Middle East, France, Benelux and Flanders. It will also air on Discovery Spain and Portugal. Produced by Relay Productions in collaboration with Bilibili, the revamped Marooned will feature locations focused on the Chinese “5 elements theory.” The show launched in China already and received over 100 million views during its release period.
