eOne Hires CMT Alum for Alternative Programming Team

LOS ANGELES: Entertainment One (eOne) has named Julia Silverton to the role of senior VP of development for alternative programming at eOne Television.

Based in Los Angeles, Silverton will lead all development efforts for the growing alternative programming team in the U.S. She will work closely with Mark Herwick, the senior VP of current, alternative programming at eOne Television, and Benjamin Megargel, the VP of development at eOne Television. Silverton joins eOne with more than 20 years of experience creating reality TV franchises. In her previous role as the VP of development at CMT, Silverton oversaw the production of scripted and unscripted series for the channel.

“Julia has a proven track record of identifying, developing and launching bold and original series,” said Tara Long, the executive VP of alternative programming at eOne Television. “Julia’s background and talent as a showrunner and development executive will be an invaluable asset as we continue to grow eOne’s alternative programming slate.”
