discovery+ Unveils Feature Doc Slate

discovery+ has revealed its robust documentary slate for the first half of 2021 that features My Beautiful Stutter, which includes Paul Rudd and Mariska Hargitay among its executive producers.

Other titles set to arrive on the streaming platform are Groomed, a story of a woman who travels back to her home country to confront her past sexual abuse as a child; Miracle Fishing: Kidnapped Abroad, about a father who is kidnapped in Columbia; and The Walrus and the Whistleblower, following Phil Demers’ crusade to free the walrus Smooshie.

discovery+’s lineup also features Genius Factory, about the controversial “Nobel Prize sperm bank” of the 1980s and 1990s, and Apocalypse ’45, an emotional recount of the end of World War II by those who lived through it.

These films join the previously announced titles Francesco, They Call Me Dr. Miami, P.S. Burn This Letter Please, The Impossible Row, Beyond Borders and Jon Benet: What Really Happened.

There’s also the Danish discovery+ original Prime Suspect: The Madeleine McCann Case, produced by Heartland TV, which sheds new light on one of the world’s most well-known criminal cases. The three-part docuseries premieres internationally on discovery+ on February 15 in the U.K., Italy, Spain, Poland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. It will premiere in India, the U.S., Germany, Portugal and South America later in 2021.
