TVF International has unveiled its winter slate of unscripted programming, with 25 brand-new shows from producers across five continents, spanning factual entertainment, science, world affairs and history programming.

Leading the factual-entertainment genre is The Station: Trouble on the Tracks from Films of Record for ITV1, which gains unprecedented access to Britain’s busiest interchange. The distributor will also be releasing the heartwarming family-friendly series and format A Dog for Life from Grays Matter Films, which matches rescue dogs with families and individuals in search of the perfect canine companion. The series was deficit-financed by TVF International, with Netflix as the leading broadcaster.

TVF International is also offering more than 20 hours of new science and engineering
programming, including Jim Al-Khalili’s Guide to How We Got here from Furnace Productions, which is being co-developed with TVF International. TVF and the U.S. SVOD streamer Magellan TV are co-financing the two-parter, with TVF handling the post-production in-house at its London studios. Windfall Films special Building the Channel Tunnel and the Mediacorp-commissioned Disease Hunters sit alongside new episodes of the 4K space series Mystery of Space and tech and innovation series TechTalk, which looks at the most exciting technology being created today.

In world affairs, TVF is offering a four-part series on U.S.-China relations, When Titans Clashed from Channel NewsAsia and the socio-economic investigative one-off doc Burnout: The Truth About Work from Protest Productions in collaboration with TVF International. In history programming, there’s Lost Pyramids of the Aztecs from Windfall Films, How Islam Built the Modern World and Iceland: Cold War Frontier.

Will Stapley, head of acquisitions at TVF International, said: “At a time when production pipelines continue to shift and commissioning budgets are in flux, we are seeing greater openness to collaboration than ever before. We are being nimble and innovative in our approach to generating new productions with our partners, whether through co-development, co-production, co-commissioning or co-financing. As a true indie and one of the longest-serving distributors in the game, our expertise in factual alongside the freedom and flexibility to work in bespoke ways with our producers is presenting lots of opportunities.”
