In the new Discovery and Science Channel series tentatively titled Uncharted, urban explorer Justin Fornal will use detailed historical maps and high-tech imaging to investigate elusive mysteries.

Fornal will cross-reference information gleaned from maps to launch new, in-depth investigations. He’ll be aided by expert researchers and use high-tech tools to not only locate the mythical outposts found in these maps, but also to uncover why they disappeared. Among the mysteries Fornal will attempt to solve are a legend of a treasure ship buried in the middle of a California desert, and whether or not the Knights Templar secretly brought their treasure to the New World a century before Columbus’ voyage.

Produced by Red Arrow Studios’ Karga Seven Pictures for Discovery and Science Channel, Uncharted is slated to premiere in fourth quarter 2019.

Marc Etkind, general manager at Science Channel, said: “With the use of old-school maps and the latest technology, Justin may have found just the right combination of tools to find the answers to mysteries that others before them have come up short in solving.”
