Channel 4 has commissioned ITN Productions to produce a new six-part series, Chatsworth House (working title), that follows on from the successful Christmas at Chatsworth House.

Set for More 4, the series was filmed throughout 2020 at the historic Derbyshire Treasure House that provided the inspiration and iconic backdrop for Pride and Prejudice. It provides unique insight with unprecedented access to the stately home, and each episode links stories and characters from this house, the garden, parkland and the wider 35,000-acre estate.

Blue Ant International will handle sales for the title.

Will Smith, executive producer at ITN Productions, said: “We have been allowed unprecedented access to the Duke and Duchess and the estate during one of the most challenging years in its history. Despite all the upheaval life at Chatsworth has gone on—adapting and flourishing in the face of a national crisis. I’m sure viewers will warm to Chatsworth’s stoicism and good humor throughout this new series.”

Becky Cadman, commissioning editor at More 4, added: “This has not been a usual year for anyone but never more have we appreciated the parks, gardens and wide-open spaces open to us. In this brand-new series, the cameras will go behind the scenes to reveal how one of the best known and most loved stately homes is responding to a year of turmoil and how it is preparing for a very different Christmas.”
