Caravan to Produce Male Mental Health Doc for Channel 4

Caravan will produce a new documentary titled Arctic Adventure: Ultimate Survival for Channel 4.

Arctic Adventure: Ultimate Survival combines escapism, humor and brutally tough arctic conditions with a really powerful message about male mental health: the importance of being honest, and that asking for help when you need it doesn’t make you any less of a man—in fact, it’s critical for survival,” said Dinah Lord, CEO and executive producer at Caravan.

The documentary is produced and directed by Tom Cross, produced by Samuel Mundell and executive produced by Dinah Lord.

In the documentary, a team of veterans—Jason Fox, Aldo Kane, Brian Wood MC and Karl Hinett—who open up about dealing with mental health issues as they take on one of the world’s toughest ultramarathons. The group has just ten days to cover 500 kilometers through a frozen wilderness, deep in the Arctic Circle and in the depths of winter.

“Male suicide and mental health in the U.K. is an unsung scandal,” said Jonah Weston, commissioning editor at Channel 4. “Seeing Foxy, Aldo and friends address this head-on during their amazing Arctic odyssey sends a simple but powerful message. Suffering in silence is a killer. Connection saves lives.”
