Blink Films Appoints Laura Jones as Creative Director

U.K. factual indie Blink Films, a Tin Roof Media company, has appointed BAFTA- and RTS Award-winning executive producer Laura Jones as creative director.

Jones will be responsible for winning further business and executive producing projects, with a particular focus on building the company’s slate of access-driven international series.

Jones joined Blink Films as an executive producer in 2021 and has since originated and executive produced projects such as Miriam and Alan: Lost in Scotland for Channel 4, which is currently in production on a second season; Ken and Barbie Killers: The Lost Murder Tapes for discovery+ and ID; the feature documentary Secrets of the Oligarch Wives for CBS and Paramount+; and Tut’s Toxic Tomb for Channel 4, National Geographic and Science Channel.

Prior to joining Blink, Jones co-founded Antidote Productions, where she was responsible for originating and executive producing content including Professor Green: Suicide and Me, Olly Alexander: Growing up Gay and What Makes a Woman.

Justine Kershaw and Dan Chambers, co-founders of Blink Films, said: “Laura is an outstanding producer and great creative force. Since she arrived, she has created and overseen multiple high-profile series, with more to come. As we build on our expanding slate and international client base, with orders from discovery+, Hulu, CBS, Paramount+, Channel 4, Smithsonian and National Geographic and more in preproduction, promoting Laura to creative director will help us keep this momentum going.”

Jones added: “Blink has an exceptional reputation for imaginative and high-quality program-making. It’s also a great place to work! Right now is an exciting time to be taking the role of creative director and helping Dan and Justine to drive the company’s expanding slate further, across genres and networks.”
