Autentic Distribution Unveils MIPCOM Slate

Autentic Distribution is gearing up for MIPCOM with a slate that includes over 90 hours of fresh factual content across all genres.

A highlight in the people and places genre is the long-awaited third season of Hot Roads—The World’s Most Dangerous Roads III, showcasing treacherous roads around the world.

“As always, we are excited to bring a brand-new slate of engaging and entertaining documentaries to MIPCOM,” said Mirjam Strasser, head of sales and acquisitions at Autentic.

Autentic Distribution’s current affairs lineup includes Maastricht–The Treaty That Changed Europe, exploring the legacy of the treaty 30 years after it came into effect; Blood, Sweat & Greens: The Exploitation of Europe’s Harvest Workers, uncovering the systematic exploitation of harvest workers; Nuclear Power Plants in War Zones–A New Threat?, giving insights into the current situation at Ukraine’s nuclear power plants; and Nuclear Energy – The Solution for a Green Future?, with a similar focus.

The new lineup also includes various titles exploring the consequences and challenges arising from climate change and environmental issues. Mission Saving Paradise–Expedition to the Last Treasures of the Indian Ocean, The Green Energy Revolution–A Race Against Time and Climate Chronicles are featured.

De-extinction—Species Protection 2.0?, currently available for presale, accompanies ambitious scientists worldwide in their attempts to revive extinct animals or to give those on the brink of extinction a new chance using state-of-the-art genetic engineering.

Golden Kingdom: The Normans in Sicily details the era when Normans ruled Sicily. “The high-quality reenactments make history entertaining and easily understandable for a wide audience,” said Strasser. “It doesn’t hurt that Sicily is a popular tourist destination known around the world.”

Autentic Distribution also added several new history documentaries to its lineup. These include the 45-minute Uncovering Hitler’s Failed Putsch of 1923, The Invention of Surgery and The Art of Seduction.

Autentic’s MIPCOM slate also features Terra Mater Studios’ newest wildlife highlights. Scotland—The New Wild offers a portrait of Scotland’s natural world and the resilience of its wildlife despite climate change and “creates awareness by shining a light on the ecological issues of our time,” Strasser said. “With all the negative news surrounding climate change and environmental crises, viewers always appreciate programs that give us all a little hope.”

Raptors, celebrating the world’s top predators, and the 50-minute Gorilla Gorilla Gorilla is an intimate look at a group of wild, elusive Western Lowland gorillas, are featured. Autentic Distribution also just acquired Sri Lanka—Leopards of Yala for its wildlife catalogue.

The Magical World of Spices explores the origins of exotic spices. In a Sea of Dust and Stars–Hiking Mauritania and Between Andes and Pacific–The North of Chile are also included, along with The Kung Fu Nuns of Kathmandu.

Science and technology programs include The Paradox of Salt—Blessing or Curse?, Ignited—How Close is Fusion Energy?, Peak Performers—The Science Behind High-Altitude Medicine and From Macro to Micro: Uncovering Earth’s Unseen Wonders.

Strasser added: “We are delighted to showcase our expansive and diverse collection of top-notch documentaries and factual series at this year’s MIPCOM. Our lineup is brimming with captivating and inspirational stories waiting to be explored. We take great pride in featuring numerous new documentaries by Autentic Studios, our newly launched production label, as well as brand-new blue-chip wildlife titles by Terra Mater Studios and numerous other highlight productions by the many well-acclaimed producers we are proud to cooperate with.”
