Autentic Distribution has added a slew of productions to its MIPCOM slate, ranging from people and places documentaries to history series and more.

The new 52-minute documentary The History of Camping examines how camping went from being a pleasure of the upper class in 19th-century England to a distinctive form of freedom today.

Other additions include Angela Merkel, a short biopic about Germany’s chancellor, and Agents of Democracy—Civil Society Under Attack, examining attacks on civil societies and the consequences for democracy.

In the factual entertainment genre, the second season of Stone Men, again following the men working the marble quarries in Italy, and Heroes of the Deep, seeing Baltic divers search for lost treasures at the bottom of the sea, have been added to Autentic’s slate.

In the history genre, Autentic is presenting Europe’s Forgotten Dictatorships, as well as Kalanag—Hitler’s Magician, uncovering the dark Nazi past of one of the most celebrated magicians after the war.

Also now on the slate are programs that take viewers to various places around the world, including Faroe Islands, Midsummer in Norway, Portugal’s Nature Parks and World’s Most Dangerous Railway Lines.

Two programs diving deeper into innovation are Colossal Machines, examining a variety of machines that have changed the world, and BioNTech—Project Lightspeed, offering a behind-the-scenes look at the development of the mRNA vaccine from BioNTech Pfizer and its potential impact on the future of medicine.

“Finally, we are once again able to present our brand new programs in person this year,” said Mirjam Strasser, head of sales and acquisitions. “Our latest additions represent our wide-ranged catalog perfectly. With many new titles in a variety of genres, we are able to deliver top-notch factual content for the different demands of our partners in streaming and broadcasting.”
