Amazon Studios has tapped Chris Castallo, formerly a programming executive at CBS and NBC, to serve as head of unscripted television.

Castallo replaces Heather Schuster, who left the company in August following an investigation into her corporate conduct. Castallo will head up unscripted development for Amazon, including spearheading the revival of Mark Burnett’s Eco-Challenge with Bear Grylls and the new fashion series from Project Runway‘s Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum.

Most recently, Castallo was head of development at Verizon’s now-shuttered mobile platform go90, and before that led unscripted programming for CBS. He will report to Amazon TV co-heads Albert Cheng and Vernon Sanders.
