All3Media has launched a new production company, Angelica Films, headed up by award-winning producer Sally Angel.

The label is focused on producing premium factual and specialist-factual content and documentaries for the U.K. and international broadcasters and platforms. The creation of Angelica Films follows several recent deals for All3Media that include a multiyear partnership with Relevé Entertainment and the launch of an original content development fund partnership with Cinetic Media.

Angel was previously at Field Day Productions, where she produced the BBC Two hit Tea With The Dames, directed by Roger Michell; the critically-acclaimed Channel 4 observational documentary Inside The American Embassy, distributed by all3media international; and the BAFTA-winning short-form program Missed Call, a co-production with All3Media’s Little Dot Studios in collaboration with Royal Holloway University’s Media Arts Department. She will hold the titles of managing director and creative director at Angelica.

Jane Turton, CEO of All3Media, said: “We are delighted to be setting up this new label within All3 and really excited to have Sally bring her award-winning creativity and talent to head it up. She has a great slate of ideas and developments that are designed to meet the growing demand for high-end factual and specialist factual content from the U.K. and international broadcasters and platforms.”

Angel added: “The Angelica team is thrilled to have found a home at All3 and excited about bringing our creative storytelling to the table and working with All3 and the best talent in TV to offer something new to the market. Although it’s early days for Angelica, we are delighted to already have two projects in paid development.”
