Tennison to Air in South Africa

JOHANNESBURG: The crime drama Prime Suspect: Tennison will be airing in South Africa on ITV Choice shortly after its U.K. broadcast.

Adapted from Lynda La Plante’s best-selling novel Tennison, the series will premiere in South Africa on April 6 at 8 p.m. The prequel to Prime Suspect has been adapted by Glen Laker (Vera) and stars Stefanie Martini (Doctor Thorne, Endeavour) as the young WPC Jane Tennison.

Prime Suspect is currently being aired on ITV Choice on DStv.

Katherine Wen, the channel director for ITV Choice, said: “We are delighted to be able to bring this brand-new, highly anticipated series to South African television audiences so soon after it premieres in the U.K. It is an absolutely brilliant story of how a young policewoman learns to persevere, even though the odds are heavily stacked against her to succeed.”

Prime Suspect: Tennison adds to our slate of top British crime dramas that we have lined up for the channel, which includes Prime Suspect, Endeavour, Murdoch Mysteries, Grantchester and, of course, the fabulous Vera with Brenda Blethyn,” added Wen.
