MIPTV Puts Israel in the Spotlight

PARIS: MIPTV is hosting a Focus on Israel at the upcoming market, which takes place April 7 to 10.

On Saturday, April 5, as part of MIPDoc, “Co-Production Marketplace: Success Stories from Israel” will offer insights into the Israeli factual and documentary market, and hear a series of case studies of successful international co-productions with Israel. The next day, as part of MIPFormats, the session “Business Opportunities in Israel” will set out how to work with one of the fastest growing content markets, with a special focus on major production and distribution companies from Israel. The main event, “Focus on Israel” at MIPTV, takes place on Tuesday, April 8, in the Palais des Festivals. It features a screening session, “Fresh TV From Israel,” showcasing the hottest content from Israel, presented by Virginia Mouseler, CEO of The Wit.

The Israel Focus will also feature two dedicated sessions. The first, “How to Create Successful Scripted Formats/Dramas,” will look at how exporting fiction formats has allowed national topics to attain global success. The second session, “Israeli Innovation Seminar: From Start Up to TV,” will focus on combining the worlds of TV and technology.

Companies featured as part of the “Focus on Israel” include The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute, Keshet International, Dori Media, Armoza Formats, Satlink Communications, HOT, Acappella: The Big Picture, The Box/Screenz, Reshet, United Studios of Israel, YES, United King Films (TELAD), Invest in Israel: Ministry of Economy, i24news, Talit Communications, Ananey Communications and Gil Productions.

“The Israeli audiovisual industry combines innovation and creativity with the cutting-edge use of new technologies to better engage the audience around programming. As the world’s leading event dedicated to content development and new creative trends, it is opportune that MIPTV should host this special focus on Israel,” said Laurine Garaude, the director of the television division at Reed MIDEM.
