The number of SVOD subscriptions across 20 markets in the Middle East and North Africa will rise from 14.16 million last year to 32.65 million by 2026, according to Digital TV Research.

Turkey is set to remain the largest SVOD territory in MENA with almost 14 million subs by 2026.

By platform, meanwhile, Netflix will remain the largest player, with 11.6 million customers by 2026, followed in a distant second by Amazon with 3.6 million and Disney+ at 3.5 million. Digital TV Research expects OSN will have 2.7 million customers by 2026, with Starz Play at 2.3 million and Shahid VIP at 1.5 million.

“Netflix and Disney+ will account for about half of the region’s total by 2026, despite Disney+ only starting in 2022 in a limited number of countries,” said Simon Murray, principal analyst at Digital TV Research. “Due to exclusive deals with Disney+, HBO and Paramount+, OSN will quickly gain subscribers.”
