LBCI Wins Back Channels in Al-Waleed Bin Talal Lawsuit

PARIS: The Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation International (LBCI) is claiming victory in its lawsuit against Al-Waleed Bin Talal, and is able to recover channels it says were "hacked" by the Saudi prince.

Following a decision from the French judiciary that was hearing the case, the Lebanese TV station has regained possession of LBC Europe, LBC America, LBC Australia, LBC Africa and LBC Maghreb. Bin Talal must not only waive his rights to those channels, he is also responsible for all fees and expenses of the lawsuit.

The dispute goes back to 2008, when Bin Talal's Rotana Group took an ownership stake in LBC and its partner PAC. Bin Talal's relationship with LBC Chairman Pierre Daher quickly went downhill. A series of lawsuits followed, regarding production fees and company ownership.
