LONDON: Zuku and FOX International Channels (FIC) are teaming up for another season of the Kenyan cooking and travel series Tales from the Bush Larder, which will air on Zuku Afrika and on FIC’s outlets.

Zuku and FIC are jointly funding the production and will co-own the series. Zuku will have the pay-TV broadcast rights for East Africa, while FIC has the rest of the world, excluding North America. All other rights will be jointly exploited. The second season of Tales from the Bush Larder will be airing on Zuku’s entertainment channel, Zuku Afrika, and on FIC’s 24Kitchen, Viajar and Voyage as well as FOX Finland.

Season two will again follow Kiran Jethwa, a Kenyan born and internationally trained chef. It will see Jethwa heading across East Africa, to Ethiopia, Uganda and Tanzania, as well as Kenya.

Hannelie Bekker, the managing director of Wananchi programming, said: “We are immensely proud of Tales from the Bush Larder and following the success of the first series we are delighted to have secured a co-production deal with FIC for series two. The show’s reception has proven that there is an appetite for fresh, well-made African programming.”

Francesca Tauriello of FOX International Channels added: “We are very satisfied for becoming co-producers of this successful series, whose first season is now successfully being released in our channels. This is also a magnificent opportunity to increase the production of lifestyle content for the FIC’s channels, a key segment in the company’s strategy, as well as to consolidate Kiran Jethwa as one of the main talent in the international production lineup for our lifestyle TV brands.”
