PARIS/LOS ANGELES: beIN is set to launch 24 entertainment channels in the Middle East and Africa with content it has acquired from Prime Entertainment Group.

The deal covers 642 episodes from Prime Entertainment Group’s catalogue, including titles such as Hollywood on Set, Ultimate Countdown, Close Up and Hollywood Singing and Dancing, among others. The programs will be available in several languages, including English, French and Arabic. The agreement will run through the end of 2017.

“The Middle Eastern market was a little bit slow these last years, and in 2015 many big players came to us in order to finalize important package deals,” said David Freydt, the managing director of Prime Entertainment Group. “For beIN it was very important to get high production value, cinema-related programs. This was part of their strategy in order to give this image of high-quality, high-standard entertainment channels. So it’s an even bigger satisfaction for us that they picked up our shows.”
