NEW YORK: Univision Deportes has become the exclusive U.S. Spanish-language broadcast home for Formula 1 racing, along with securing the digital rights to all 19 Grand Prix races.

The multi-year partnership between Univision Communications and Formula One Management starts with the 2013 season. This includes 19 races in 19 countries from March through November. Univision Deportes will broadcast all 19 races live on UniMás and qualifying rounds on the Univision Deportes Networks. Select races will be streamed online at UnivisionDeportes.com and on the digital network UVideos.

“We are looking forward to taking Hispanic audiences to the races and making them feel as if they are in the driver’s seat,” said Juan Carlos Rodriguez, the president of Univision Deportes. “Not only will Univision Deportes follow the Hispanic racers that will be making history in the Formula One, we will showcase the sounds, the entertainment and the technology behind the world’s premier open-wheel racing series. It will be pure adrenaline.”

“I am delighted we have concluded this agreement and look forward to this significant level of exposure in this valuable and ever-growing consumer market,” added Bernie Ecclestone, the CEO of the Formula One Group.
