PARIS: The TRACE Sports channel, dedicated to sports celebrities, has signed two new distribution contracts in Colombia and Mexico.

TRACE Sports was launched in Colombia on December 23 and is now available to subscribers of the pay-TV operator UNE EMP Telecomunicaciones. It will also be available in the operator’s cable offer this year. PCTV in Mexico now also offers TRACE Sports and is soon to launch the channel in HD. The channel will be launched in more than 80 countries this year with English content and Spanish subtitles.

Olivier Laouchez, the CEO of TRACE, said, “Latin America is without a doubt one of the regions in the world where sport, and football in particular, plays an essential role in people’s lives. We are delighted to team up with UNE EPM Telecomunicaciones and PCTV to launch TRACE Sports in Colombia and in Mexico. The future of the channel looks promising, since UNE EPM Telecomunicaciones has already confirmed its intention to launch TRACE Sports in its cable offer, and since the contract signed with PCTV allows TRACE Sports to gain access to the 2nd pay TV market in Latin America, which has one of the highest growth rates in the world.”
