The Roku Channel Launches in Mexico

Leading streaming platform Roku has launched The Roku Channel in Mexico.

Available beginning today, the free streaming channel delivers movies and episodic content, including 30 Roku originals.

“Launching The Roku Channel in Mexico represents a pivotal moment for our business as we continue to expand internationally and offer streamers free access to great entertainment and news content,” said Rob Holmes, VP of programming at Roku. “In the U.S., The Roku Channel is a top five channel on the Roku platform, by both reach and streaming hour engagement and we are excited for the opportunity to build this viewership in Mexico. We provide the scale for content providers and brands to reach these critical streaming-first audiences.”

The lineup locally includes Los Pitufos en la aldea perdida, Blade Runner 2049, El Sorprendente Hombre Araña 2, Psicópata Americano, Draft Day, El Patriota and more. Content partners include Sony, Lionsgate and Telefórmula, with more titles being added over time. At launch, Roku users in Mexico will have access to originals such as Operación Marea Negra, Natural Born Narco and Mamas. The Roku Channel also offers 25-plus live TV channels at launch, including Telefórmula, Canela TV, Novelisima and Runtime Espanol.
