Telemundo Studios Promotes for Scripted Production

Telemundo Studios has promoted veteran producer Ximena Cantuarias to senior VP of scripted production.

In this new role, Cantuarias will be responsible for leading long-form scripted production across Latin America as well as joint production opportunities. Cantuarias first joined Telemundo in 2001 and most recently has been instrumental to the production of several hit series for the network, including Buscando a Frida and Enemigo Intimo, as well as the third season of La Reina del Sur.

Cantuarias will report directly to Karen Barroeta, executive VP of production and development for Telemundo Global Studios.

“Ximena is a highly-regarded production executive with decades of experience bringing premium, culturally-relevant narratives to Latino audiences,” said Barroeta. “This elevated position allows her to continue to lead the charge in producing powerful, captivating content to further strengthen Telemundo’s position as the number one producer of Spanish-language scripted content in the U.S.”
