Telemundo Adds Senior Exec to News Division

MIAMI: Award-winning journalist Humberto Duran has been named VP of news operations and production management for U.S. Hispanic network Telemundo.

Based in Miami, Duran will report directly to Luis Carlos Vélez, the executive VP of network news at Telemundo. The exec will be responsible for managing business, technical and creative issues surrounding the production and operational standards of the network’s news division. Additionally, he will identify the latest trends in news-gathering technology and create innovative ideas to enhance the news broadcasts across multiple platforms.

Duran previously served as executive producer at CCTV America. In that role, he was responsible for the editorial content of the award-winning Americas Now. He’s also held posts at CNN en Español and won three Peabody Awards and two Alfred I. Dupont Awards.
