SPT Bolsters LatAm & U.S. Hispanic Management Team

MIAMI: Sony Pictures Television (SPT) has appointed Angelica Guerra as the new senior VP and managing director of production for Latin American and U.S. Hispanic markets.

In her new role, Guerra will be responsible for managing SPT’s production business in the region. She will also oversee the company’s interests in joint venture production companies such as Colombia’s Teleset and Brazil’s Floresta Productions.

Guerra is replacing Donna Cunningham, who has become the company’s executive VP of operations and international production. She will work out of Miami under Andrea Wong, SPT’s president of international production and the president of international for Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Previously, Guerra served as the executive VP of content for Caracol Television and as an executive VP for Gentv, Channel 8. She also held the title of CFO at Tepuy, which is now known as Telemundo International.

"As a seasoned television executive, Angelica’s many years of experience offer a unique blend of production and programming expertise combined with strong relationships and an international business savvy that is essential to this role," said Wong. "Having worked closely with Angelica through various co-production projects with Caracol, I’m thrilled to welcome her to the SPT family and am confident she will lead our creative efforts in Latin America to even greater success."
