NEW YORK: Broadway Video, producer of Saturday Night Live and Portlandia, among other shows, is launching a digital studio to create content for Latino audiences.

Más Mejor will tap into the resources of Telemundo Enterprises for the distribution, monetization and social activation of its content. Those enlisted to produce content for Más Mejor include SNL alums Horatio Sanz and Fred Armisen and Vine star David Lopez. Mexico City production studio What A Bear, run by Adriana Bello (Days of Grace), and Lemon Films’ Billy and Fernando Rovzar (Casa de Mi Padre) will source talent and produce short-form comedy content in keeping with the Broadway Video brand. Programming, in English and Spanish, targeting a bilingual, multicultural demographic, will go live in January 2016.

“We’re excited to work with Telemundo Digital and our other soon-to-be-announced distribution partners to provide a platform for the many talented Latino performers and creators here and abroad,” said Britta von Schoeler, the president of Broadway Video Enterprises.

“We constantly look for new ways to connect with Hispanic audiences,” said Peter Blacker, the executive VP of digital media and emerging business at NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises. “Partnering with Broadway Video on this launch represents our first move into multiplatform comedy and should be very well received by audiences and advertisers alike.”
