MEXICO CITY: FOX Sports Latin America has nabbed the exclusive broadcasting rights and non-exclusive online rights to all local matches played by Mexican soccer club Pachuca, and has also renewed its rights over Club León.

The new multiyear deal means that FOX Sports will be offering live games of Liga MX and Copa MX every week in Mexico, as well as Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa through its international TV channels. The Pachuca agreement also includes the broadcast of friendly games and tournaments as of the next Torneo Apertura 2014.

“Club Pachuca is one of the most traditional and important clubs in Mexico, the birthplace of Mexican soccer, winner of national and international titles and current Sub-Champion,” said Carlos Martínez, the president of FOX International Channels Latin America. “We are confident that this agreement will be welcomed by fans.”

He added: “FOX Sports has been close to Club Pachuca for more than ten years. We share their values, vision and passion for sport. We are very excited about bringing back Club Pachuca and Club León and being able to carry the passion of Mexican soccer through our FOX Sports channels around the world. We are grateful to both clubs for trusting us and our company.”

“In a globalized soccer world, where broadcasting platforms are rapidly growing, we could not have found a better partner, FOX Sports being one of the leaders in sports content,” commented Jesus Martinez Patiño, the president of Grupo Pachuca. “Now the Tuzos of Pachuca will reach millions of fans, [and] the eyes of the world will be upon Mexico, the land that gave birth to this wonderful sport.”

“Every Saturday night during the Liga MX season, fans will be able to enjoy on FOX Sports five hours of Mexican soccer live, with coverage before and after every match provided by the experts from original productions La Última Palabra and Central FOX, as well as on the authenticated online platform FOXPlay. In addition, FOX Sports will continue to broadcast the traditional weekly show Tuzoccer, that brings the latest news on Los Tuzos of Pachuca,” said Oscar Gómez, VP of production and programming at FOX Sports Mexico.
