Azteca’s Ricardo Salinas to Chair International Emmy Awards Gala

NEW YORK: Ricardo Salinas, the founder and chairman of Mexico’s Azteca television network, is to serve as the gala chair for the 40th International Emmy Awards gala, which is taking place on November 19 in New York City.

Salinas will preside over the gala and will open the program. The opening reception for the International Emmy World Television Festival will be hosted by Salinas and Azteca.

"Ricardo Salinas is an outstanding entrepreneur, philanthropist, and media visionary," said Bruce L. Paisner, the president and CEO of the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "We are delighted that he and his company, Azteca, will be a key part of our 40th anniversary celebrations."

"We look forward to this year’s International Emmy events and furthering international cooperation in the broadcasting and entertainment industry," added Salinas.
