WildBrain has continued to offer new seasonal experiences and products for Strawberry Shortcake after the release of the Netflix special Strawberry Shortcake’s Perfect Holiday.

This includes recent appearances of Strawberry Shortcake at L.A. Comic Con, where fans saw costumed characters representing all four eras come together, and in Manhattan’s StuyTown neighborhood for Santa’s Grotto.

The appearance at Comic Con included a special partnership with artist Spooksieboo and online retailer Threadless for a global apparel and accessories collaboration that features an exclusive Spooksieboo holiday collection for the Strawberry Shortcake Threadless shop. This came just after a dedicated seasonal Spooksieboo Strawberry Shortcake art installation at the Rockefeller Center in New York as part of The Candy Cottage of Christmas Magic.

On December 10, Julienne Fine Foods & Celebrations hosted a tea party in San Marino, California, where fans could eat an array of Strawberry Shortcake-inspired treats, including special cinnamon-dusted items directly inspired by Strawberry Shortcake’s Perfect Holiday.

Crisco has crafted five recipes inspired by Strawberry Shortcake and her friends for the holiday season, including cupcakes, lemon curd cupcakes, blueberry cinnamon rolls, lime bars and orange cinnamon waffles. The recipes can be found on the Crisco website.

Strawberry Shortcake has also teamed up with Starglow Media’s Girl Tales, a podcast created by Rebecca Cunningham, for a new festive crossover episode. The podcast reimagines fairytales to put empowered girls at the center. The new episode, “Strawberry Shortcake and the Winterswirl Storm,” will launch on December 18.

In the U.K., fans have the chance to win a Strawberry Shortcake prize pack throughout December as part of Tiny Pop’s “Guess Ho Ho Ho” campaign.

WildBrain CPLG has also brokered deals with various partners for new products in 2024. In the apparel category, Sweet Peas will launch its first Strawberry Shortcake collection of accessories and apparel; Mad Engine, IML and Hybrid have developed junior apparel lines for mid-tier and mass retailers; The Forecast Agency is currently offering an extended apparel range with a new holiday and destination-themed collection at PacSun; and Dolls Kill has launched its third themed collection.

In the digital arena, Budge’s Strawberry Shortcake Bake Shop game allows users to immerse themselves in the world of Strawberry Shortcake by digitally recreating the treat featured in the winter special.

Numerous toy partners have also signed on for more products. The Loyal Subjects has launched new collectibles at Five Below; Boss Fight Studio has debuted a posable action figure collection online and at Hot Topic and FYE retailers; and Blue Kazoo has released a 1,000-piece puzzle. Also, Blank Tag Co. has created a range of waterproof and stylized stickers.

These partnerships and activations come just before the launch of new micro-form content on the official Strawberry Shortcake YouTube channel. Sixty 15-second clips are set to premiere beginning January 15.

“It’s such a joy to spread Strawberry Shortcake’s seasonal cheer this holiday with activations and partnerships focused on engaging with fans in ways they love,” said Melissa Goodrich, director of franchise strategy at WildBrain. “These festive collaborations build on an already strong licensing and content program. With the addition of brand-new and original YouTube shorts for audiences to enjoy and new partners and existing licensees lining up robust product launches for next year, we are set for a very sweet 2024.”
