BREDA: Studio 100 International has extended its deal with Famosa to launch toys based on the animated hit Heidi in the Mexican market.

The collection, which consists of dolls, plush, play sets, figurines, vehicles and ride-ons, will hit retail this holiday season. Famosa’s Heidi toy range has already been enjoying success in Europe, with more than 60 products on the market. The Heidi series currently airs on Disney Channel in Latin America, where live shows, trading cards and children’s tableware based on the brand are available in Argentina.

Heidi has continued its momentum across Latin America and the Famosa extension is just one of many agreements enabling us to provide Heidi products and content to our fans,” noted Christophe Drevet, the international consumer products director at Studio 100. “We are extremely excited with what the future holds for Studio 100 and our evergreen brand Heidi.”

Ignacio Romero, Famosa’s country director for Mexico, added: “The brand recognition of Heidi in the Mexican market is huge. Our challenge is to engage the new generations with this popular brand, and our strategy is to focus on children as a primary target and Millennial parents as a secondary target; they were the ones who used to watch this popular TV series in the past.”
