Russia’s Moonzy Among INK’s MIPCOM Highlights

INK Global plans to present a number of children’s series, including the Russian animated hit Moonzy.

Moonzy follows the adventures of a small alien who finds a new home in a meadow on Earth. The show is meant to teach young viewers about love, respecting their elders and the difference between good and bad. It is produced by award-winning director Sergey Selyanov.

The company is also showcasing The Barkers, which is about a unique canine family vacationing at a country house. Season one is already available, and the 26×6-minute second installment is slated to launch this month.

Claus Tømming, managing partner at INK, remarked: “MIPJunior has played a big part in our global growth, so we’re excited about coming here again and talking to people about two shows that—just like all our projects—represent something new, original and special.”

In addition, a third installment of Masha and the Bear is on offer from INK and has already piqued the interest of such broadcasters as France Télévisions and KiKA. Other highlights from the company are The Mojicons, an animated comedy about the secret life of emojis; Anansi, a new adventure show that is set for delivery in 2019; and ZAFARI, which will officially launch at MIPJunior.

“INK productions are not just better storytelling and visual quality—they are truly one-of-a-kind,” added Tømming. “There are no other characters like Masha and the Bear. The single (and first-to-market) emoji-based TV property in the world is The Mojicons. And nobody except Anansi will put you in the shoes of an African teen to pioneer a take on the boisterous folklore of the Mother Continent.”
