The video game MeteoHeroes—Saving Planet Earth, based on Mondo TV Studios’ hit children’s series, has launched in physical format for PlayStation 4.

Published by Meridiem Games, the video game allows children to join the characters from the show in cleaning up the world. Players must find hidden items on the screen that will help them rid cities from around the world of pollution and decay.

The game is available in six languages: Italian, Spanish, English, French, Portuguese and German. It has launched in the following markets: Spain, Italy, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland, Austria, Poland, Hungary, Greece, Croatia, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

This physical release follows the digital launch in February on PlayStation and PC (STEAM platform). The game continues Mondo TV Studios’ ongoing expansion of its animation services into new segments that will include video games.

Maria Bonaria Fois, CEO of Mondo TV Studios, said: “MeteoHeroes—Saving Planet Earth has been getting strong recognition from the vast fan base of the TV series in its digital format. Now that the video game is also available in a physical version at retail outlets, we look forward to seeing further growth in the reach and following of the MeteoHeroes brand. This success shows, once again, how video games, led by high-quality content, can be a powerful tool for transmitting important values.”

MeteoHeroes is now in its third year and is available in over 180 countries and 22 languages. Its dedication to entertainment and education is underlined by its participation in recent initiatives. For one, the video game played a part in the Real Madrid Foundation Campus Experience within the Football and Responsible Gaming program. MeteoHeroes is also an integral partner in a climate education initiative that is being launched in the U.S. by Kenn Viselman’s itsy bitsy Entertainment. The initiative is supported by PBS stations across the U.S., KIDS FIRST! a Coalition for Children in Media, Mondo TV Studios, Meteo Experts, NAFCE, the San Bernardino Union School District, Scott Noppe-Brandon and Adventure2Learning. The campaign will be rolled out to school-aged children around the world following its U.S. launch.
