Peppy Pals, MTG’s latest original production, is meant to entertain young viewers while also helping develop their emotional and social intelligence.

Peppy Pals is based on an award-winning app that has been downloaded in more than 150 territories. The 16-part show introduces five animal characters through short stories that help children learn how to deal with such real-life issues as stress, bullying and loneliness. It will become available exclusively on MTG’s Nordic streaming service Viaplay in September.

MTG Studios currently has more than 50 original productions in the pipeline. The Great Escape, the company’s first kids’ original, debuted late last year.

Jakob Mejlhede, the executive VP of programming and content development at MTG, commented: “Streaming is part of everyday life for viewers of all ages, and that makes Viaplay a natural home for snappy content that explores some of the most relevant questions for kids today. Our younger audiences can look forward to even more great storytelling as we accelerate along our path to becoming the Nordic region’s leading producer of original content.”

Ira Gladnikoff, the head of Viaplay, added: “In less than a year, Viaplay has created a high-quality original portfolio that perfectly complements our amazing film and sport offering. Just like The Great Escape, Peppy Pals reflects our commitment to content that combines both education and entertainment.”
