MIPJunior Unveils Top 30 Most-Screened Shows

CANNES: MIPJunior has released its list of the top 30 most-viewed kids’ productions at the market over the weekend, four of which came from France’s Cyber Group Studios and all but one of which are animated.

The top-ranking title was Grizzy and the Lemmings from Hari International in France. Coming in second was Bottersnikes & Gumbles from CAKE in the U.K. Rounding out the top five were Pat the Dog from Superights in France, Kitty is Not a Cat from Jetpack Distribution/Bogan Entertainment Solutions in the U.K./Australia and Gilbert & Allie from Cyber Group Studios in France.

Arthur and the Minimoys—The Series (Studio 100 Media, Germany) came in sixth place, while Simon (GO-N International, France), 3 Amigonauts (9 Story Media Group, Canada), Belle and Sebastian (Gaumont Television, U.K.) and Monchhichi (PGS Entertainment, France) were seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth, respectively.

Ranked in order from 11 to 20 were Gigantosaurous (Cyber Group Studios, France), Abraca (Planet Nemo Animation, France), Ernest & Célestine (Dandelooo, France), Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (DHX Media, Canada), Be-Be-Bears (Signal Media, Russia), Arthur and the Children of the Round Table (Blue Spirit Productions, France), The Pirates Next Door (Cyber Group Studios, France), The Sisters (Jetpack Distribution, U.K.), Buddy Thunderstruck (American Greetings Entertainment, U.S.) and Three Little Ninjas Delivery Service (Entertainment One, U.K.).

The remaining 10, ranking from 21 to 30, respectively, were Chi Sweet Home (Toon Distribution, France), Luna Petunia (Saban Brands, U.S.), Furry Wheels (Gaumont Television, U.K.), Dot. (The Jim Henson Company, U.S.), Kazoops (Jetpack Distribution, U.K.), Pirata & Capitano (Millimages, France), Taking Down Taffy (Cyber Group Studios, France), Fantasy Patrol (Signal Media, Russia), the live-action show Dino Dana (Sinking Ship Entertainment, Canada) and 1, 2, 3, ……Nadiaaa (Gilgamesh Studio, Jordan).

Also at MIPJunior, the winner of this year’s International Pitch competition was The Meaning Of, which comes from Luva in Brazil.
