Masha and the Bear Lands in Brazil

MOSCOW: Brazil’s SBT has picked up two seasons of the animated series Masha and the Bear for its morning kids’ block Carrossel Animado.

The free-to-air network went for 52 episodes of the show, with chapters from the first season set to air on a daily basis Mondays to Fridays. Licensed goods based on the TV show are expected to launch in the country sometime in the fourth quarter.

Dogs Can Fly represents the property across Latin America. Russian studio Animaccord created the show.

Masha and the Bear is consistent with SBT’s mission of bringing entertainment and values to our spectators, as well as a dynamic and artistically high-quality cartoon, which will likely result in good ratings,” said Rodrigo Navarro Marti, the director of new business at SBT.
