LONDON: Hopster has added the preschool series Phonics School to its lineup of educational shows.

The 16×5-minute animated series introduces preschoolers to phonics, teaching them letter recognition, letter-sound association and shape tracing. Phonics School follows the Phonikers (the letters of the alphabet) as they master their natural powers to “transformagix” into anything beginning with their sounds, and then change back by tracing their shapes.

“Hopster provides an ideal audience for Phonics School,” said Hana Rolles, co-founder of EnablinGenius, which created Phonics School. “Our purpose in making fantastical preschool edutainment is very much aligned with Hopster’s commitment to making screen time count.”

Ellen Solberg, the content manager at Hopster, commented, “We’re very excited to add Phonics School to our lineup as it has great educational value whilst being interesting for kids with adorable characters and creative story lines. Good entertainment should always teach kids something and Phonics School is a great example of a show that has a good balance of fun and learning.”

The series is distributed by BBC Worldwide Learning.
