GG Bond Leads Winsing’s MIPCOM Slate

The Chinese animation company Winsing is showcasing in Cannes a catalog of titles that includes the established hit GG Bond, as well as GOGO Bus, Herbal Master and Lion Dance.

Coming to English-speaking markets under the name Kung Fu Pork Choppers, GG Bond sees its heroic super-powered piglet fight varied threats to his world with the help of his friends. Aimed at the 4- to 8-year-old set, the property boasts a series of 14 seasons, five feature films, a live show, dedicated theme park areas and a licensing campaign.

Doby and Disy, an influential animation edutainment TV and film brand, is a Winsing title that has launched into the MENA region, North America and South Asia and inspired three popular live shows and a growing licensing presence. There’s also the animated comedy series Crazy Candies, which is set to expand into licensing and live shows, and Metalions, an action-adventure series about an eight-year-old boy who teams up with a mystical warrior to save the planet.

Winsing highlight GOGO Bus, a new CGI-animated children’s show aimed at 2- to 6-year-olds, will debut its third season this fall. The series tells the story of a talking school bus named Gordon, who transports children from home to nursery.

At MIPCOM, Winsing is introducing two new projects now in development and looking for co-production and investment—the action-focused Herbal Master, about a young recruit to the ancient Herbal Masters and his mission to rescue his little sister; and Lion Dance, in which a former dancing star aims for a comeback and finds himself unexpectedly famous.

Echo Gu, VP of Winsing Animation, said: “The success of GG Bond and Doby and Disy, as well as our plans for further exciting new properties, such as GOGO Bus, builds on our very strong market in China with brands that, we are sure, will have a universal appeal. We are looking forward to demonstrating to prospective broadcast and licensing partners at MIPCOM the strength of our lineup in China and its enormous potential in many other markets.”
