Gaumont has appointed Courtney Arumugam to the position of VP of creative development, animation and family.

Arumugam will be based in London and report to Terry Kalagian, the company’s senior VP of creative development, animation and family. Her appointment is a result of the company’s continuing strategy to expand its animation and family division in key countries throughout Europe.

Prior to joining Gaumont, Arumugam served as senior creative executive of children’s content at the U.K.-based literary and illustration company The Bright Agency, heading their newly launched in-house film and TV division. She also spent several years at Mattel serving as senior executive of creative content development and has also worked in commissioning and production for Channel 4, BBC and Fremantle.

“Courtney is a great addition to our team, bringing a wealth of experience and knowledge across development, animation and the kids’ space in general,” commented Kalagian. “Courtney’s efforts will be focused on the European market, and she will work in close collaboration with Kimberly Dennison, VP of creative development in our U.S. office.”
